Apple has recently announced that they have sold 1,000,000 iPhones. Wow! It took Apple 2 years to sell 1 million iPods, and just 74 days to sell the same number of iPhones. Amazing!

One of the resellers quote it at $99. Engadget has a video demonstrating the process. CNN has reviewed the software, too.
At about the same time, two independent sites released free software unlocks for iPhone - iphone.unlock.no and www.freeiphoneunlock.com. The former has some software and step-by-step 10-minute guide on how to do that, while the latter has posted both the manual guide as well as native GUI software to run on the iPhone itself.
